Join our dynamic 45-member HR team as an Internal Recruiter to recruit the best talent for our open positions at Sarasota County!
Are you tech-savvy, great at progressing multiple projects at a time, and love supporting a variety of hiring managers? In this role, you'll assist our 19 departments with all their hiring needs. You will play an important part in continuing to build a strong employer brand for our organization to ensure we attract, hire and retain the most qualified employees to make an impact in our community.
Recruitment
- Collaborate with all county departments to understand needs and develop successful recruitment and compensation strategies. Specific concentrations include: Communications, Emergency Services (Emergency Management and Fire Department), IT, Finance, Planning & Development Services, UF/IFAS Extension & Sustainability, and more!
- Build job descriptions and job postings and recommend external advertisement resources.
- Review applicant resumes to determine the best fit for our positions and conduct phone screens with qualified candidates to gather additional information to assist our hiring managers.
- Participate in interview panels for high-level and priority positions in our organization.
- Support and onboard external candidates and internal job changes with background checks, education and employment verifications, and regularly communicate with all stakeholders.
- Assist departments with strategic workforce planning and organizational design projects.
- Identify and implement streamlined procedures to maximize the utilization of the county’s applicant tracking and onboarding system.
- Review Veteran's Preference submissions and follow up with candidates on their applications.
Community Outreach
Represent Sarasota County at career fairs, community outreach events, and site visits with local schools, colleges, and universities to enhance employment opportunity awareness.
This opportunity requires an individual with the ability to be a critical thinker, anticipate needs and offer solutions with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Must have a pleasant, outgoing personality and ability to work on multiple ongoing projects.

About Everything Else
Hours: Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. Occasional early evenings or limited weekend hours required for hiring events.
Starting Pay Range: $58,947.20 - $62,000.00/year, based on your experience
Requirements
About You
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Public Administration, or a related field and three (3) years of professional-level related experience in HR, including recruitment, advertising, and sourcing.
- OR: Applicants who do not possess the degree but are enrolled in a degree program (in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related field) will be considered on a case-by-case basis and, if hired, will be required to obtain their degree to maintain employment.
- OR: Experience gained through internships or fellowships may be considered.

- SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR
- PMP
- Six Sigma
