- Director of Human Resources
Description
The Director of Human Resources is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will work in partnership with other Club Directors and TEAM Members. The Director's primary responsibility is to develop, maintain, and implement the Club's human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines, while ensuring management consistently adheres to those standards and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. The Director of Human Resources will act as a strategic, confidential business partner with other Club Directors to implement policies, procedures and initiatives that benefit the Club.
Requirements
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the Club's human resources strategy in alignment with the organization's strategic plan and operational goals.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce organizational development, TEAM Member relations and talent strategy.
Partner with department leaders to identify workforce needs and assist with succession planning initiatives.
Organizational Culture
Lead TEAM Member recognition, engagement, and wellness programs.
Promote organizational values and foster a culture of confidentiality, accountability, professionalism and exceptional internal and external service.
Human Resource Systems & Reporting
Oversee Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll systems.
Develop HR metrics and reports, including turnover, vacancy rates, retention, overtime, compensation analyses, and benefits utilization.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Direct all aspects of payroll administration, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of biweekly payroll and compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Oversee TEAM Member benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, leave administration, and annual open enrollment.
Maintain accurate payroll and personnel records while ensuring confidentiality of TEAM Member information.
Administer wage analyses, incentive programs, and merit increases.
Employment & Talent Acquisition
Conduct comprehensive onboarding and orientation.
Manage and coordinate the H2B staffing program while working closely with the Club’s labor attorney to ensure all necessary documentation is provided in a timely manner.
Ensure all employment practices comply with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and applicable regulations.
Policy Development & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain Human Resources policies, procedures, TEAM Member handbooks, and workplace guidelines.
Maintain personnel files, certifications, licenses, and required employment documentation
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including:
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, EEOC
Workers' Compensation
Immigration and employment eligibility requirements (I-9/E-Verify)
TEAM Member Relations
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
Create and implement activities to attract and retain high-performing TEAM Members.
Provide guidance to managers on TEAM Member performance, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
Conduct investigations involving TEAM Member complaints, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations, while remaining neutral and objective.
Recommend appropriate corrective actions while minimizing organizational risk.
Training & Development
Develop and coordinate TEAM Member training programs, including Leadership development, Compliance training, Harassment prevention and workplace safety
Assist managers with performance improvement plans, coaching, and TEAM Member development.
Safety & Risk Management
Administer Workers' Compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
Coordinate OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives.
Participate in risk management and insurance-related activities.
Budget & Financial Management
Develop and administer the Human Resources departmental budget.
Monitor payroll, benefit costs, and recruiting expenditures, while identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
